Cognitive Behaviour Therapy
Cognitive behaviour therapy is an adaptable therapeutic approach,
(which here is combined with Hypnosis/Hypnotherapeutic solution focused techniques)
is used in altering maladaptive and un-deviated ways of feeling and thinking.
CBT is a therapeutic intervention which when the underlying Cause has been found
and the cathartic/abreaction released can enable the client to understand that
the negative/anxious maladaptive or dysfunctional thought processes they have
build up over their life, have become a belief system which fail to alter.
By reviewing these irrational and distorted beliefs, the therapist enables
the client to alter their thinking leading to the transformation of feelings.
CBT is individual based therapy. Focusing on the specific nature of client's
maladaptive behavioural problems changing their irrational cognition, allowing
them to become adaptable in their thought process/actions, increasing coping
skills and providing new solution to past rigid held beliefs/problems.
CBT has a proven track record in treating many presenting symptoms, from anxiety states, depression, eating disorders, insomnia, mood swings, to sexual problems.
The Client learns that they themselves have the ability to change
their irrational thought process alleviating the constant rumination
and future focus on failure sufferers often have leaving them in a
constant state of heightened arousal propelling the symptom forward.
CBT allows the client to understand that they can gently alter their
irrational cognition increasing their options, reducing the fear or
dread developing coping skills and strategies which allow the client
to understand that they hold the key for recovery with in them and
that they will have learned new skills that can be used through out
their life when problems arise as they always do.
(ICHP- where anxiety is present analysis is always indicated.)
